Max Sussman, a Huntington Woods native and cookbook author, has some good news for bagel aficionados: He’s expanding his Bev’s Bagels shop on Grand River in Detroit’s Core City neighborhood and opening a location in Ann Arbor.
“Big things coming for Bev’s in 2026!” Sussman posted on Instagram. “I’m so excited to share that we’ll be opening in Ann Arbor and growing in Detroit! It was a very good day for local bagel news. Never thought this little pop-up would make it all the way to the WRIF!! Stay tuned for all the juicy details.”
Bev’s Bagels opened in May on Grand River, and on some weekends the line is out the door. Sussman plans to double its size by expanding into the shop next door.
In Ann Arbor, the 1,500-square-foot space at 115 E. Liberty St. is expected to open in the fall.
