Ian Andrew Sharpe, 31, of Allen Park, who was on probation, has been charged in the fatal stabbing of his grandmother, Patricia Anderson, 84, also of Allen Park.
Authorities allege that last Wednesday, around 6 p.m., at a home in the 10000 block of Allen Pointe Drive in Allen Park, Sharpe stabbed his grandmother with a knife, then moved her body, which was found in a field in Detroit on Saturday.
Sharpe faces charges of first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and removing a dead body without permission.
Michigan Department of Corrections records show Sharpe was on probation since April 2024 after being convicted on a weapons and an arson charge.
“Another domestic violence homicide,” said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy in a statement. “The victim was 84 years old and allegedly killed by her adult grandson. The benevolence of Ms. Anderson was rewarded with her violent death. Please beware of the signs of potential domestic violence. The signs may not always show themselves, but knowing what they are can be beneficial to us all.”
Sharpe was arraigned Monday and remanded to jail this morning in Allen Park's 24th District Court. A probable cause conference is set for April 28 at 9 a.m. before Judge Richard Page.
