Clerk and customer outside the station
A customer at a Southfield gas station spat at a clerk, who responded by firing shots at him. No one was injured, and both men were arrested and criminally charged.
The incident occurred last Tuesday at a Shell gas station on Greenfield near 10 Mile Road that sells chicken. The dispute was over the chicken, Jessica Dupnack of Fox 2 reports.
The customer, Allen Blair, 39, got into an altercation with a clerk. Blair was pushed out of the store by employees.
Outside, Blair spat at clerk Majd Saleh, 22, who pulled out a 9mm handgun and fired shots in Blair's direction, Fox 2 reports. He was not hit.
"The clerk fired his weapon approximately six times. At that time, the customer did not fire; however, he retreated," said Southfield Police Chief Elvin Barren, according to Fox 2.
Blair, who illegally possessed a gun, did not return fire. Southfield Police spotted him minutes later and arrested him. They also arrested the clerk.
Blair was charged with gun crimes, and Saleh was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, Fox 2 reports.
